This tool creates a petition for expungement for dismissed and not guilty charges using case information provided by the user.
The user must file the petition in court using the directions provided.
This tool will not recognize the case if you were found guilty or pled guilty to any charge on that case. If you are seeking expungement of a charge you were convicted of, this tool is not for you, and you should consult an attorney. This tool does not show case information for all counties in North Carolina. The North Carolina Courts are implementing new court technology to improve access to justice for all North Carolinians. Counties which have the new technology are not included in this tool. This tool will NOT find eligible cases for expunction in the following counties: Beaufort, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Harnett, Hyde, Johnston, Lee, Martin, Mecklenburg, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell, Wake and Washington.
